Early-morning fire damages town of Beloit garage

TOWN OF BELOIT—An early morning fire caused $20,000 in damage to a garage and its contents in the town of Beloit, according to a news release from the Town of Beloit Fire Department.

Firefighters were dispatched at 1:07 a.m. to 2148 S. Park Ave., where a two-car, two-story detached garage had smoke and flames showing. Heat and fire were infringing on the house, and additional units from the town of Turtle, city of Beloit, South Beloit, Ill., Clinton and Edgerton fire departments were brought in.

The fire was brought under control in 20 minutes and totally extinguished in an hour. No injuries were reported.

Mark Terwilliger and his family own the property. The garage was not insured.
