Janesville woman hospitalized, arrested on multiple charges after Sunday crash
CENTER TOWNSHIP—A Janesville woman was hospitalized and arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, reported to be her fourth offense, after a traffic crash Sunday night in Center Township.
According to a Rock County Sheriff’s Office news release: Marna C. Krumwiede, 42, Janesville, was taken to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville, where she was admitted with a fractured vertebrae in her neck.
She also was cited for operating after revocation, failure to maintain control, operating a motor vehicle without insurance and failure to fasten seatbelt.
Deputies obtained a search warrant and Mercy ER staff conducted a legal blood draw after Krumwiede refused to have an evidentiary chemical blood test.
When deputies arrived at 6:46 p.m. at the crash scene, at the intersection of W. County B and Mineral Point Road, they found a white 1998 Pontiac Grand Am in the ditch. Their investigation showed that Krumwiede had been traveling east on west County B when she failed to negotiate the curve and lost control of her car.
Krumwiede is scheduled for a mandatory court appearance May 30 in Rock County Circuit Court.
