JANESVILLE—A Janesville man was stabbed multiple times in his torso Friday morning but told police he doesn't know who attacked him or where the incident occurred, police said.

Nathaniel Trammell, 40, who has no fixed address, told police he drove himself to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center in Janesville after he was stabbed, Deputy Chief Dan Davis said.

The stabbing occurred some time between about 9:30 and 11 a.m. Friday, Davis said. But Davis said Trammell has not been very forthcoming with details about what happened.

Trammell's injuries were not life-threatening, Davis said. An update on his condition was not available Friday afternoon.

The stabbing was not random and the public is not in danger, authorities said.
