JANESVILLE—City officials have lifted a recent water quality advisory for Lions Beach in Janesville.

Recent tests, they said Friday in a news release, provided favorable results for E. Coli bacteria levels.

The city issued its advisory in late June after tests showed elevated bacteria levels in the swimming area.

The city’s leisure services department takes weekly water samples to monitor E. coli bacteria and sends them to the State Hygiene Lab in Madison for testing. Until that point, all previous results in 2013 had been good.
