Three men rescued from Lake Koshkonong
MILTON TOWNSHIP—Three men trying to remove an ice shanty off Lake Koshkonong late Tuesday afternoon got stranded in an eight-wheel drive amphibious vehicle between ice and open water on the lake and had to be rescued by local emergency crews.
According to a Rock County Sheriff’s Office news release: Emergency workers from the sheriff’s office, Edgerton and Milton fire departments responded at 5:48 p.m. Tuesday to the lake, at Dallman’s Landing in Milton Township, after learning the men were stranded.
Members of the sheriff’s office recreational safety team and Milton Fire Department used an airboat to rescue them and take them back to Dallman’s Landing.
No medical treatment was necessary. The men, whose names and addresses aren’t known at this time, reported no injuries after being stranded for about two hours.
The amphibious machine was left on the lake due to weather concerns and will be retrieved Wednesday morning by the sheriff’s office recreational safety team.
