Two arrested after police seize meth from Beloit home
BELOIT—Police seized $20,000 worth of methamphetamine Tuesday from a home in Beloit, according to a news release from the Rock County Sheriff’s Office.
Arrested were:
--Kirk R.C. Mikelson, 23, on charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
--Briana R. Ketelson, 21, on charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The two were arrested after police executed a search warrant at 1119 ½ Ninth St., Beloit. The home is across the street from Royce Elementary School, which enhances the drug possession charges.
Police seized about a pound of methamphetamine, which has a street value of about $20,000, according to the news release. They also seized a .45 caliber gun, cash and drug paraphernalia, according to the release.
The Rock County SWAT team along with the Beloit Tactical Unit executed the search warrant. The Rock County Special Investigations Unit started an investigation in July, according to the news release.
That team included an officer from the Milton Police Department, the Beloit Drug and Gang Unit and the Milwaukee High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Interdiction Team, according to the news release.
This is the second significant methamphetamine bust in the county, sheriff’s office Capt. Todd Christiansen said.
Mikelson and Ketelson are scheduled to appear Thursday in Rock County Court.
