Two injured in Walworth County crash
ELKHORN—Two medical helicopters were called to the scene of a one-car accident Tuesday that injured two people.
Danielle J. Curley, 19, of rural Burlington was flown to Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital in Wauwatosa, where she was listed in satisfactory condition Wednesday. A 17-year-old girl also was injured and transported to a Milwaukee-area hospital by helicopter. Authorities are not releasing her name or condition.
Walworth County deputies responded to Sheridan Springs Road near Black Road in the town of Lyons at 7:48 a.m. Tuesday. The two were trapped in the car with multiple lower leg injuries, according to a press release from the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office. Curley was the driver of the vehicle, which was eastbound on Sheridan Springs Road when it left the road and struck a tree.
Walworth County deputies were assisted by the Lake Geneva and Lyons fire and rescue units, Lake Geneva police officers, Flight for Life and OSF Lifeline. Walworth County Capt. Scott McClory reported Wednesday the crash remains under investigation.
