JANESVILLE – The 13-year-old girl who was hit by a truck Wednesday morning in front of Franklin Middle School is back in school, her mother told The Gazette.

Carly Olin suffered a concussion, a bruised hip and elbow and some scrapes, said her mother, Laurie Olin.

“She’s limping, but she wanted to go back to school,” Laurie said.

Laurie said Carly was getting special treatment Thursday, including being able to sit in a soft chair. Laurie said she appreciated the well wishes she has received from teachers and others.

Carly was in a crosswalk in front of the school when the accident occurred. The driver was cited for failure to yield in a crosswalk, police said.
