Public's help sought in Janesville bank robbery
JANESVILLE -- Janesville Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect in the robbery of U.S. Bank on Saturday.
The suspect was captured on video shortly before 10 a.m. coming and going from the front parking lot of the Goodwill Store, which is directly to the east of the U.S. Bank at 2732 Milton Ave., according to a news release. The video shows the man walking to the bank at about 9:53 a.m. and returning to the lot at about 9:56.
Police describe the man as white, between 5 feet, 6 inches and 5 feet, 10 inches tall, with a thin build. He was wearing a black winter coat that hung past his waist and dark pants and shoes. A gray scarf covered his face.
Anyone who was in the Goodwill parking lot around that time and who might have seen the suspect is urged to call police at 608-755-3100 or CrimeStoppers at 608-756-3636.
