Home sales up 18 percent in January
MILWAUKEE—Home sales continue to recover in Wisconsin.
The Wisconsin Realtors Association says sales rose about 18 percent in January, compared to the same month last year. It’s the 19th consecutive month of double digit growth. The median sale price of homes also increased. It rose 3.4 percent to $123,000.
The Journal Sentinel (http://bit.ly/WL0qIH ) says the strongest growth was to the north where sales are up 31 percent and in the central region of the state, up about 28 percent.
Realtors board chairman Renny Diedrich says January typically is the slowest month, so the strong sales point to an even better spring.
