Beloit police investigate second robbery at ATM
BELOIT—Beloit police are investigating an armed robbery at an ATM machine at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday that resembles a similar incident Jan. 6, according to a police news release.
According to the release:
A female customer drove up to the ATM in the 400 block of Public Avenue and withdrew cash. A black man on foot forced his way into her vehicle and threatened her with a handgun, ordering her to make a second cash withdrawal. The robber stole the cash from both withdrawals.
He ordered the woman to drive away, and he exited the vehicle at Wisconsin Avenue and Bushnell Street, fleeing on foot in a northerly direction. Police were unable to track the robber’s footprints in the snow.
The robber is described as being 5 feet 4 inches tall and wearing dark clothing. His description and actions are similar to an armed robbery at the same ATM on Jan. 6.
