Fire, emergency crews responding to apparent Lake Geneva structure fire

LAKE GENEVA—Fire and emergency crews from more than a half-dozen fire and police departments are responding to a structure fire this evening on the city of Lake Geneva’s north side.

According to emergency scanner traffic, Lake Geneva Fire Department was leading a response to the 1100 block of Madison Street in Lake Geneva.

Crews were staging at about 6:55 p.m. this evening along Grant Street, which is in a residential area, according to scanner traffic.

Fire departments activated a mutual aid box alarm for the apparent fire, requesting ambulances, police and fire trucks from several agencies throughout Walworth County.

Details about the about the fire were not immediately available. Fire officials at Lake Geneva did not immediately answer phone calls from a Gazette reporter. A Lake Geneva Police Department dispatcher indicated that no one from the police department was available for comment because officers were busy responding to the fire call.
