PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP—The Rock County Sheriff's Office is asking people to stay away from the area of Stuart Road in the town of Plymouth, where authorities are responding to a report of a shooting.

Channel 3000 reports that a woman in her late 50s was found shot to death in a shed, according to the Rock County Sheriff's Office.

They found a man thought to be in his 70's in another shed on the property. He was transported to University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Channel 3000 reports.

Deputies and other emergency crews began staging around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 6800 block of Stuart Road after it was reported a female had been shot, radio communications indicated.

A Special Weapons and Tactics trailer arrived on scene at 9:30 a.m.

"At this time, deputies are setting up a perimeter, and the Rock County SWAT Team is also responding," according to a sheriff's office news release received at 9:43 a.m. "This is very fluid, and citizens are asked to avoid the Stuart Road area. Information will be released as more facts are known."

A "staging area" has been set up for news media at Plymouth Town Hall at 8219 High St., Hanover.
