Military jets pulling out of Wisconsin air show

MANITOWOC, Wis. (AP) ó The director of the Thunder on the Lakeshore Airshow in Wisconsin says there wonít be any military jets in the show this year.

Jutta Furca tells the Manitowoc Herald Times Reporter the U.S. Air Force has grounded its Thunderbirds because of automatic federal budget cuts. She doesnít expect participation from the Army or Navy either.

The Thunderbirds are also scheduled to perform at the Experimental Aircraft Associationís convention this summer. EAA spokesman Dick Knapinski tells The Associated Press he hasnít heard from the Thunderbirds yet.

Furca says Thunder on the Lakeshore Airshow will go on. It is scheduled for June 8 and 9 at the Manitowoc County Airport. EAA is July 29 to Aug. 4 in Oshkosh.
