12-year-old Janesville girl reported she was grabbed by stranger
JANESVILLE—Police are seeking people who might have seen an incident Tuesday morning in which a 12-year-old girl said she was grabbed by an unknown person.
The girl said she was walking west at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday on Elizabeth Street on Janesville’s west side. A man grabbed her from behind but ran off when a car drove by, according to a news release from the Janesville Police Department. The man fled east on Elizabeth Street.
The girl was not injured, according to the release.
The Janesville School District between 2 and 3 p.m. Tuesday informed families about the incident using the Alert Now system. The girl is a Franklin Middle School student, according to the district alert.
The girl described the man as white and 6 feet tall with a medium build. He was wearing blue jeans and had a wrinkled face, according to the news release.
