MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Unemployment rates are dropping across Wisconsin.

The state Department of Workforce Development released a new report Wednesday that shows unemployment rates fell in every one of the state’s 32 largest cities between August and September.

Racine had the highest unemployment rate of any city at 10.7 percent followed by Beloit at 9.9 percent.

Unemployment rates also fell in all 72 counties. Rates ranged from a low of 4.3 percent in Pierce County to a high of 13.7 percent in Menominee County.

The data isn’t seasonally adjusted and is subject to significant revision.

The seasonally adjusted statewide unemployment rate in September was 7.3 percent.

I would have to agree with WisconsinResident! At this point none of us truely know what is true and what is false for the most part because we get a great majority of our information from TV and the internet. Now, the news companies would never lie to us right? They would never say something that wasn't true unless they knew it to be so, right? Ya, I'm laughing while I'm typing this and it goes for all news networks because they all say what they want based on their personal opinions and not what a true news company should be doing.

Just remember this on November 6 will answer this question. Are we better off that we were four years ago. The rest of this is political crap is correct. To me polls don't matter till election day. See there is the candidates record the lies in the TV and radio adds and reality. When we go to the polls November 6 the election results will speak for themselves. As for the rest you all are entitled to your own opinions but i will look at the candidates record and what is reality.

fear: I hope your wish does not come true regardless of who wins the election. Sounds like you want 4 more years of one side preventing the other side from getting anything done even if Obama wins reelection which, imo, is likely. The country needs both sides to grow up and work for this country because they have wasted the last 4 years in partisan bickering. We need jobs, we need changes to Medicare and Social Security that will strenghten it for the following generations, we need to hold and then reduce the deficit. Your hope that the Democrats pull the same stunts as the Republicans if Obama is reelected is sad. IMHO. When is the far left and the far right going to rise above these childish games and work for this country? Or does Rome simply burn while they fiddle.

Donna, you can't force people to compromise. Without a super majority to stop a filibuster. Obama did compromise on several issues with Obamacare that reduced the effectiveness of it IMHO. The same way that Walker wasn't going to get any compromise from the Democrats in Wisconsin in 2010. This is the problem with our 2 party partisan system.

Still, the Dems had a majority. You mean Obama couldn't get a couple of votes from the other side of the aisle? The great orator, community organizer? The one who promised to work with both sides? He was too busy ramming thru Obamacare, making back room deals, promising special gifts to certain states, exemptions to the coverage, etc. yeah, the great compromiser.

donnaw,
Wikipedia? That's your source? Really? Do some real research. The Democrats had a filibuster proof majority in the Senate for 4 months which actually only equated to 72 working days. Here's a handy timeline.
"In January 2009, there were 56 Senate Democrats and two independents who caucused with Democrats. This combined total of 58 included Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.), whose health was failing and was unable to serve. As a practical matter, in the early months of Obama's presidency, the Senate Democratic caucus had 57 members on the floor for day-to-day legislating.

In April 2009, Pennsylvania's Arlen Specter switched parties. This meant there were 57 Democrats, and two independents who caucused with Democrats, for a caucus of 59. But with Kennedy ailing, there were still "only" 58 Democratic caucus members in the chamber.

In May 2009, Sen. Robert Byrd (D-W.Va.) was hospitalized, bringing the number of Senate Dems in the chamber down to 57.

In July 2009, Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) was finally seated after a lengthy recount/legal fight. At that point, the Democratic caucus reached 60, but two of its members, Kennedy and Byrd, were unavailable for votes.

In August 2009, Kennedy died, and Democratic caucus again stood at 59.

In September 2009, Sen. Paul Kirk (D-Mass.) filled Kennedy's vacancy, bringing the caucus back to 60, though Byrd's health continued to deteriorate.

In January 2010, Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.) replaced Kirk, bringing the Democratic caucus back to 59 again.

In June 2010, Byrd died, and the Democratic caucus fell to 58, where it stood until that vacancy was filled by a Dem bringing the caucus back to 59 where it stood until the midterms."

If you disagree with the republicans on their methods at the federal level, then you must really be disgusted with our democrats at the state level! Not only did they run and hide to prevent our government from voting on legislation, they also initiated a recall to get Walker thrown out of office.......it's nice to see that we agree that the behavior of the Wisconsin democrats in their treatment of our governor was despicable:)

By the way, I and many others think this unemployment figure is misinformation. I have seen a few carefully placed bits of news lately. Like the token-temporary drop in gas prices. The left wants to suck in as many lemmings as it can to flood the vote. I am not fooled. The last 4-years were horrible! We need a (real) change...

*
However, Obama wants things to go badly so he can implement his view of how HE thinks the country should be. For one, why is our President communicating with the U.N. as though it is under his constituency or he is under theirs? I thought it was the position of the President of the U.S.A.? Our President is asking for global arms control of small arms, and wants the U.N. to monitor our election.
*
Who does this man think he is serving?!
*
The conservatives in America are not trying to hold down the economy in order to make him look bad. The liberals are doing that themselves, and they are usually the ones to use tactics like that anyway, not the conservatives.
*
President Bush sort of fizzled out and tried to appease everyone. Romney and Ryan will not fail us. Time for Obama to go the way of the Dodo.

You know what else in my opinion the only poll that counts is the one we the people will make on election day. Why because this is nothing more than lies and BS the candidates record and what is reality will speak for itself in the end. This is the bottm line in the end.

Did Republicans deliberately crash the US economy? By M. Cohen, June 9, 2012 (The Guardian of UK): Be it ideology or stratagem, the GOP has blocked pro-growth policy and backed job-killing austerity – all while blaming Obama. So why does the US economy stink? Why has job creation in America slowed to a crawl? Why, after several months of economic hope, are things suddenly turning sour? The culprits might seem obvious – uncertainty in Europe, an uneven economic recovery, fiscal and monetary policymakers immobilized and incapable of acting. But increasingly, Democrats are making the argument that the real culprit for the country's economic woes lies in a more discrete location: with the Republican Party. In recent days, Democrats have started coming out and saying publicly what many have been mumbling privately for years – Republicans are so intent on defeating President Obama for re-election that they are purposely sabotaging the country's economic recovery. These charges are now being levied by Democrats such as Senate majority leader Harry Reid and Obama's key political adviser, David Axelrod. For Democrats, perhaps the most obvious piece of evidence of GOP premeditated malice is the 2010 quote from Senate minority leader, Republican Mitch McConnell:
"The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president."

There is no such thing as a "true" unemployment rate. The rate that is reported is the standard U3 figure. Other higher figures are higher because they expand the definition to include part-time employment and discouraged workers. These figures are ALWAYS higher even when we have much better economic conditions. You are trying to pretend that the U6 figure is the "true" measure of unemployment but it was higher than U3 before the recession as well.
.
When Obama took office we were losing jobs at a rate of 400,000 a month. Since the stimulus took effect we have added jobs for 42 straight months.
