BELOIT—Beloit Police Department investigators are asking the public’s help in finding a person of interest in the death of a man at his home near downtown Beloit.

Emergency responders found a 58-year-old man dead at 3:10 a.m. Friday in the 300 block of West Grand Avenue, according to a news release from the Beloit Police Department.

A neighbor called 911 after a woman knocked on the neighbor’s door and asked for an ambulance for the 58-year-old man. The neighbor knew the woman only as “Teresa.”

She left the scene before police arrived, according to the news release.

“Teresa” is described as being 5 feet, five inches tall with short, blond hair. She is in her late 30’s or early 40’s, according to the news release.

Police are not releasing the name of the victim at this time. An autopsy is scheduled Saturday.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Beloit Police Department at 608-364-6801 or Beloit Area CrimeStoppers at 608-362-7463.
