Wisconsin state park stickers go on sale soon
MADISON—Next year’s Wisconsin state park admission stickers are set to go on sale this weekend.
The stickers grant year-round admission to more than 60 state parks, forests and recreation areas.
They’ll go on sale Saturday at state park facilities and Department of Natural Resources service centers around the state. They cost $25 for Wisconsin residents, $10 for Wisconsin senior citizens and $35 for out-of-state residents.
The stickers feature a drawing of marshmallows roasting over a campfire. Waukesha South High School sophomore Holly Jo Cegielski submitted the design in a statewide contest.
Annual state trail passes for 2013 will go on sale on Saturday as well. They run $20 for both state residents and non-residents.

Sigma - It could be worse, we could be in Illinois where they are paying double/triple for everything with no end in sight for raising fees/taxes! Let's face it, whether any of us like our leaders or not, we live in a pretty good state with awesome activites that we are able to do for a reasonable cost. I travel for a living and have pretty much been everywhere in the country and can honestly say, I like Wisconsin the best! I like the fact that I can be to a major city within an hour and can also be out in the middle of God's country with no cell service in 2-3 hours.

Why should we have to buy a sticker to go in our own state park that we already pay for? How stupid to be double taxed.

I buy two every year,. one for me and one for mom. get to save 15 bucks this year as she is 65 now. I think it's a great deal, and a great system. Make those who use it, pay a bigger share. Some years, I don't use it, but I still buy it in support of the cause.

Wow, I knew that would stir up a bunch of comments but I never thought I would be accused of using a library computer or smoking $7 a pack cigarettes. (I saved the best for last), or buying 13 lottery tickets. You know what is wrong with buying the lottery tickets? You may actually win. And with that comes all the people who you never knew were your family and friends. Yea the money would be nice but it sure would screw up my life. So I think I should just Thank God for what I do have and be happy. And yes, I can go buy my own State Park Sticker. As long as it does not support Walker in any way. Oh Oh, here we go again. Ha Ha. Anyway, we finally got some comments on this article didn't we! Excuse me while I slip out and get a State Park Sticker for my Goldwing so we can go for some nice rides and visit some parks next summer. Love those motorcycle picnics. Maybe you'all should join us with your bikes. Hay Rawhide, with the money you save on your library computer (you seem to know all about them), you could buy a bike and go with us with your sticker. Ha Ha.

hg: Do you realize that if you gave up smoking ($7 per pack), that within 4 packs you'd have enough to pay for a pass.

hg, if you truly don't have $25 to spend, get off the library computer, go to one of the many local temp agencies, and have them get you a job. If you're not using the library computers, you can go without web access for a month and afford that cheap state park pass, since the library has free web access you can use.

Well, It sure is a nice price but since I cannot afford to get one myself perhaps I could convince Dwight to buy another one since he would be glad to pay 4X that much, perhaps he would not mind buying me one too. Gee Thanks Dwight, it is truely appreciated.

$25 is a steal for a full year of access to all the wonderful state parks Wisconsin has to offer. I'd gladly pay 4x that amount for a sticker.
