Thanksgiving to be warm, but windy with chance of rain
JANESVILLE--For anyone sticking around Janesville for Thanksgiving Day, Thursday should bring more unseasonably warm weather.
But a chance for afternoon showers and wind could keep post-meal hikes or Nerf football at bay, according to forecasters.
Although forecasters expect highs in the low to mid-60s Thursday, Accuweather.com and other weather outlets are calling for blustery conditions and a chance of a rain shower or two in the afternoon in the Janesville area.
Those who plan to grill or deep-fry a turkey outdoors may want to get an early start or plan on cooking their bird in the garage.
The National Weather Service and Accuweather.com call for a 20 to 30 percent chance of showers developing in the afternoon as increasing clouds roll in and winds top at 15 to 20 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 30 miles per hour.
Despite the chance of rain, daytime highs could reach 15 to 20 degrees above normal in and around Janesville, according to Weather.com and Accuweather.com.
For anyone heading out Thursday night to do Black Friday shopping early, it will stay windy and temperatures should drop to the seasonal average, with overnight lows dipping down just below freezing, the National Weather Service predicts.
Here's Janesville weather data for today, along with average temperatures for this date and the high and low on Thanksgiving last year:
