MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The state Department of Transportation says most major road construction projects have completed for the year and won’t be a problem for Thanksgiving travelers.
However, DOT official Don Greuel says there are still a few locations where lane restrictions are in place.

The heaviest travel days are expected to be Friday as deer hunters head to the woods for the start of deer-hunting season, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and the Sunday after the holiday.

Last year five people died in traffic crashes in Wisconsin during the Thanksgiving holiday period.
Motorists can check the latest road conditions by calling 511.
