Johnson, Baldwin talk on day after election
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Republican Sen. Ron Johnson says he’s spoken with Democratic Sen.-elect Tammy Baldwin and congratulated her on her victory in Tuesday’s election.
Johnson said Wednesday that he wants to sit down with Baldwin and discuss areas where they can agree as they prepare to represent Wisconsin together in the U.S. Senate.
But Johnson acknowledges that he and Baldwin are about as polar opposite politically as could be.
Johnson is a tea party Republican elected in 2010. Baldwin is a liberal Democrat and the first openly gay candidate ever elected to the Senate.
Baldwin says voters sent a message Tuesday with her victory and by re-electing President Barack Obama that they are tired of gridlock in Washington.

Honorfirst - You can keep up with your silliness but the truth just doesn't prove out your post. These are the kinds of things when researched are just proven to be false. But most of you folks would still deny that the earth circles the sun if one of your fearless leaders said it did.

Waasp: Pull your head out of the sand. Ever heard of ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, NPR...just to name some of the left leaning outlets. The chubby moderator from the 2nd debate, can't remember her name, but she was from one of these "Unbiased" (BS) outlets sure tipped her hand, didn't she?

Honorfirst - That tired old saw about the left wing media is getting a little worn. Talk radio, absolutely dominated by right wing. Most broadcasting, radio and tv controlled by right wing corporations. Most studies of the media show it is just not a true statement.

GeraldFord fan: What about the way the left leaning media slanted the reporting against Romney and in favor of Obama? They couldn't find anything positive that Obama had done, so attack the other guy in order to shift the election. There are alot of people out there that really are uninformed. Can't you be objective in you analysis of the "news" networks?

The state that had him as a governor? By the way how did ryan carrying Wis. work out for you? Janesville? Rock County? I know my very good friend wislady won't answer, but I sincerely want to congratulate her. I really thought she would be gone after the election. I respect your courage!

mistergee1: The state of the Kennedy family .. the state with 87% of the legislature Democratic during the time Romney was governor. And they voted 2 to 1 for Obama. I am shocked.

Really wislady? Your take on on this will always be called into question. Even the state of Mass didn't want your candidate a resounding 2 to 1 margin. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

It would be most helpful if the right wing would pay attention to facts. Eventually facts win every time. Faux News is leading the right-wing off a cliff with their alter-world "reporting"

I think some of you are forgetting the Republican's were voted into office two years ago to be the party of no to stop the out of control spending that was taking place. I'm not trying to rain on the parade but they did what the majority of American's wanted. That doesn't make it right but that is what the message voters sent to them in 2010, STOP SPENDING WHAT WE DON"T HAVE! Now that Obama won his second term, its now his job to get the two parties working together. Like it or not that is his job and what he was elected to do. If we are honest about this, the Democrats didn't want anything to do with the Republican's being involved in their healthcare bill so compromise must come from both parties. I personally think both parties suck and we have too many blind party followers drinking each other's Kool Aid but that's just me. I believe in spending less than what you have and I'm all across the board on issues from there.

IMO ... if the Republicans are even worse for the next 4 years there will be a Democratic House and Senate possibly in 2 years and for sure in 4. If the Democrats continue the road they have for the next 4 years ... The Presidency, Senate, and Congress will all be held by Republicans in 2016. The only mandates I see in this election is that a few more of the people prefer to have more than less government in their lives and that most of the people want our representatives to represent ALL of us for the good of this country and not for the good of a particular party or candidate.

Baldwin has got a screw loose if she really believes they voted to end gridlock by re-electing Obama, if anything, the Republicans will be even worse for the next four years.
