Firefighters battle Milton apartment fire
MILTON—Fire crews are still working at the scene of a fire that broke out late Tuesday in an apartment complex in Milton, authorities said.
According to Rock County 911 Dispatch: Firefighters from Milton Fire Department and three other area fire departments were called to a fire at a four-unit apartment complex at 864 Parkview Drive at 10:32 p.m. Tuesday.
Milton Fire Lt. Mike Zimborski said early this morning that the fire has been extinguished, but that fire crews were still wrapping up work at the apartment on the city's east side.
Zimborski did not have immediate details about the fire, including its possible cause or the scope of damages to the building. He said he believed that no one was injured in the blaze.
Fire departments from Janesville, Edgerton and the town of Turtle assisted, officials said.
It's the second building fire in Milton in less than a week's time. On Oct. 31, fire crews were called to Buckaroo's BBQ and Bucked Off Saloon in Liberty Station on the city's west side.
Local, state and federal fire investigators probed that fire last week but were unable to find a concrete cause, officials indicated.
