Deputies looking for fake police vehicle
TOWN OF MAGNOLIA—Rock County Sheriff’s Office investigators are looking for a silver pickup truck that three people said flashed red and blue lights in an attempt to pull over drivers last week on a rural highway south of Evansville.
The truck is described as a Ford F-150 or a Dodge Dakota with red and blue lights mounted on the interior of the windshield, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office. Three people called county officials to report the truck tried to pull them over Thursday and Friday at Highway 213 and County B in the town of Magnolia. On both nights, the incidents took place at 11 p.m., Capt. Jude Maurer said.
The drivers did not stop because they didn’t think the truck was a law enforcement vehicle, according to the news release.
Deputies are investigating these incidents. Sheriff’s office officials ask anyone with information to call the Rock County Communication Center at 608-757-2244 or Maurer at 608-290-0808.
