Walker says more positive jobs numbers coming
OCONOMOWOC, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Scott Walker says final job-creation numbers for 2011 are being revised and will show more growth for the year than previously reported.
Walker said Monday during a campaign stop at a carpet store in Oconomowoc that new numbers out this week will show a "brighter" jobs picture for 2011. Job creation has been a major focus of the campaign to recall Walker. The election is June 5.
Walker says employers are holding off on creating jobs until after the recall election, saying the state will see a "tremendous takeoff" then.
But Walker's challenger Democratic Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett says Walker has had time to create jobs but has failed. Only 5,900 private sector jobs have been created under Walker.

Check out the video below. It is an expert for the Department of Revenue for the State of Wisconsin explaining how we are at a recent low on unemployment while it says we are losing jobs. It is not because people quit looking but because of reporting changes. This is a straight forward explanation of why the numbers do not compute.

Kleefisch brags about FatWallet moving from one side of the border to our side of the border. They are bringing their employees up from IL to Beloit all because they don't have to pay sales tax here. Where does this help Wisconsin?

“It is sad when a federal government agency chooses to highlight negative numbers

The measure used by every other state, which allows for an apples-to-apples comparison of job creation between states, doesn't look good for Walker so he's going to cook the numbers. Presto! How to lie more effectively with statistics!

By "revised" Scooter means "fixed". Shocking that these "revised" job numbers, which are of course favorable to Scooter, will come out shortly before he faces his second election within 18 months and he's subsequently about 245,000 jobs short of his campaign promise, I'm sure it's just a coincidence, I mean, all the figures that have shown that this state has been hemorrhaging jobs since he took office are all a vast left wing conspiracy.

I finally agree with wanker. I also believe job creation will pick up after the recall election. What business person would want to start a business or expand in a State where the leader of the State lies every time he moves his lips, appoints unqualified political cronies to postions of power, and listens to only those that line his pockets. When Tom Barrett is elected and clean government returns to Wisconsin job growth will explode.

Most people are looking at this "recall thingy" as a contest against Gov. Walker when in reality the democrats have two shots at changing Republican control of the process. Democrats could lose against Gov. Walker and still win enough seats in the Senate to create a legislature that would be more likely to produce comprimise legislation. Obviously that won't necessarily cause the repel of already passed legislation which is the primary Democratic goal but it will prevent Walker's administration from cramming anything it wants down our throats without discussion and consensus. While that isn't the ideal outcome of the recall elections it's a hell of alot better than what we have presently.

I have to laugh at how it's all Walkers fault half of you idiots don't have jobs. It takes a skill to make more than $8 bucks an hour and here's the worst part, you may have to get off the couch and actually go find a job yourself. I'm pretty sure whomever gets into office, they wont be knocking your doors down offering you a $30/hr job with no apparent skills or motivation.
And when the recall is all over and he's still in office, I'll still be laughing at the epic fail which are most of the comments on here.

I have Seen the New Numbers.... Walker has created a couple hundred new Jobs... Just look at how many people are working in the FOOD banks and Unemployment office..and the Number one job that he has created,(or at least I Hope so) is... with the GOVERNOR's office of Wisconsin..
( Inserting Sarcasm now). I see it.. he is doing us a favor... he has provided many people new jobs ( or the opportunity to look for jobs), that the Future of WISCONSIN LOOKS FANTASTIC.... ( end of Sarcasm)
He has cost so many people ( in Wisconsin) their jobs in the last 13mos (or how many months he has been there),,Teachers, State Workers, and other industry jobs, that any job that is got by those people adds to the dream world ( adding new jobs to Wisconsin..)
Sure anyone came claim that...
1st take one piece from a pile ( lose jobs, creating a higher unemployment rate)
2nd put into another pile ( all the lost jobs)
3rd then borrow from that 2nd pile to cover the first pile... ( replacing all old jobs with the same people from that place at a lower wage, higher employee comp contribution-pay in for health benefits ) ..
THE REPUBLICAN WAY.. it is creating jobs.... Yeah right... a job that should be a 11.50/hr is now being hired back at 8.00/hr.. almost seems fair, doesn't it???
"GOP" gets Richer , and all others fall into poverty...

I do not believe a word either party says. "Statistics don't lie but you can lie with statistics". "Figures don't lie but liars figure". Both certainly apply to politicians of all stripes. Perfect example: Wisconsin has lost more jobs in last year than any other state .... Wisconsin unemployment rate is the lowest in 4 years ... Both valid statistics. Both true statements. But neither statement gives the "Paul Harvey rest of the story".

I guess he still doesn't have the numbers quite like he wants them...time for another revision. They're probably revising the numbers on a secret network server that's hidden in one of his file cabinets. I heard that he had called in Kathy Nicklaus for advice on revising the numbers.
I think the numbers Walker should be revising are his promise of creating 250,000 new jobs and 10,000 new businesses. Maybe knock off about, oh, 240,000 of those jobs and 9,750 of those new businesses.

Why is it that the job numbers are never correct until they've been "revised" by someone in Walker's camp? Every time good news about the economy comes out Walker is right there with a mic and a camera to applaud and take credit. As soon as a negative indication is made public, he's making excuses and pointing his finger at everyone but himself. When will this hypocrisy stop?
