partarican1, thank you for the info. Just wish the state would update the maps on the site.

the roundabouts are in the revision plans from the PE Robert Knorr....send him an email and ask for the plan (pdf) of the revised overview...the road does not stay true north like it is now...it veers off to the east enters a roundabout then sends cars over the bridge-currently about 100 feet east of where the intersection is now...

How do you figure that? The township isn't going to fund redoing township roads for truck traffic. I would guess more likely there will be no truck signs placed at these township road off ramps.

Being that 26 will be limited access, the side roads will be "truck traffic specs".

The prints I've seen show no roundabouts there. There will be big changes with elevations though. Same with the Townline rd bridge.

Where on the map you provided do you see roundabouts? Townhall as long as I have been alive has been a North/South road. What reallignment are you talking about? Townhall is going over the top of Hwy 26 with off/on ramps in both directions. Very confused with the map and info you put out there, not saying you are lying or trying to pick a fight here, so please don't take my comments that way.

if you want specific details about the project, send an email to Robert Knorr at the DOT-he's the PE on the project, and you can contact him at Robert.Knorr@dot.wi.gov and be sure to ask for the revised plan overview

no...not the whole road, just the section from the last stop sign at Bingham Road to Hwy 26...there will be a round-about on both sides of the bridge that is going in, and there is no way it will be faster than 35 mph upon entering...just like the 59 bypass area in Milton...here's a link to the specs on the DOT site...

30 MPH? You have got to be kidding. It's a country road that's well-travelled. If you want 30 MPH, move to town (and prepare to be disappointed!). No matter what the limit is, people do dumb things and sometimes pay the ultimate price. Government is incapable of saving everyone from themselves!

Now, about this "article" (which is likely a rugurgitated press release!) - wouldn't it be interesting to know just WHAT WAS GOING TO BE GOING ON AT THAT INTERSECTION ALL SUMMER (hmmm, Gazette writers...wouldn't it now)?

yes...people don't do 45 on this road, and when the DOT changes the angle of the road (currently due north/south) it will be more difficult to negotiate the intersection...it really should be only 30 or so mph through there, imo...I've lived out near where the construction is for 6 years now, and have seen fatal accidents on my lawn because of high speed driving on Townhall Road, I've heard the fatal accidents at the next corner up the road, and watched countless idiots race their bikes/cars to the next intersection...there is no shoulder and there is no place to go if you encounter fast on-coming traffic...

That's what I thought you meant, but it's already at 45. You want it lower??

Happy for the heads up. My main travels Milton to Janesville, visa-versa.
