Mine proposes water deal
SUPERIOR, Wis. (AP) — The company that wants to mine iron ore from the Penokee Range in far northern Wisconsin has struck a tentative deal to pipe in water from Upper Michigan.
Gogebic Taconite has put its mining plans on hold while the Legislature considers streamlining state mining regulations. The Legislature’s budget committee is expected to vote next week on a bill designed to jumpstart Gogebic’s plans.
The mining company continues to work on plans to get the water it’ll need to process ore into taconite. The option is for 1.2 million gallons of water a day from the city of Ironwood, Mich. — 22 miles from the mine site near Mellen.
Ironwood water and sewer manager Bob Turvonen tells Wisconsin Public Radio News (http://bit.ly/yymJ9q) they have the capacity to produce 3.7 million gallons a day, so the opportunity would be a good revenue generator for the community.

It's not a newsflash. Next you will try to say the Cap Times is fair and balanced.

this is beyond ridiculous, and getting worse by the minute...and a water pipeline from the UP won't make this mining bill pass...let this company play by the rules already established instead of trying to change the rules! sounds like a temper-tantrum to me...we only have one more week before this legislative session is over...join us Monday at the capital, or call your legislators and ask them to vote no on any form of AB 426

Your link to the article written by Nicole Schulte is just another hard left wing source.
She also writes for the Center for Media and Democracy (George Soros group). You might remember also, that she had another story about her 19 year old disenfranchised son, who had no ID and they wanted him to pay the $28.00 to get an ID.

fedup doesn't have a clue! A pipeline is not the issue, it's what the pipe carries. Why don't you search Keystone pipeline and find out how many spills and problems they had with the FIRST Keystone pipeline. The one the pres turned down would be the second pipe. The first one was a disaster, so why should we let them make a second one? Now people like you want to change the rules so the same type of people can cause a huge disaster in Wisconsin! Nothing is stopping a mine right now...the company just wants the rules changed so they can destroy Wisconsin with Walker's blessing.
