Political fund run by Ryan gives $10K to Romney

MADISON, Wis. — Paul Ryan is invested in the future of Republican Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign — and not just because the Wisconsin congressman could wind up on the presumptive nominee’s ticket.

A federal fundraising account associated with Ryan gave Romney’s campaign $10,000 in late May, according to a recent report filed with campaign finance regulators.

The political action committee established by Ryan, known as the Prosperity PAC, made the dual $5,000 donations on May 29.

Ryan is a seven-term congressman from southern Wisconsin who heads the House Budget Committee in Washington. He is among the Republicans often mentioned as a potential vice presidential pick for Romney.

fordfan - I personally think its crazy that any party should be able to fund raise for the amounts of money they are receiving for the presidential election or any election for that matter. My point was that the attacks had started against Ryan for giving $10k to Romney from one fund to another so I pointed out that even our current President was the most guilty of all in regards to collecting insane amounts of money for his election. I don't vote party lines and vote only for the ones who have a plan I agree with and actually explain what that plan is and how to make it happen. I steer clear of the used car salesman type, who only talk about change and promising to lower taxes since that's the biggest scam in the book from politicians. At some point both sides need to look in the mirror and accept responsibility for causing all the BS. No one party got us into this mess and no one party will get us out of it either.

spark, you're just upset with me at the moment because I pointed out how you were stereotyping people as you were making a comment about how other people stereotype. You'd think as active as you are on this site that you would have by now read my NUMEROUS comments about the ECONOMIC ELITISTS that control this country and I make absolutely no distinctions between Democrats and Republicans in that context.

My only comment here (other than pointing out how you were stereotyping liberals and Democrats) was, in totality, "It's going to cost more than that." How is that even remotely a partisan comment?

onedayatatime - What is it that makes liberals lump people into various stereotypes? The majority of democrats on this website do it on a daily basis. After all, this is what my response was to. Those that assume all republicans are rich. That republican politicians only receive money from the wealthy. You are an independent? Good for you. Your posts however certainly favor the left and not the right views, so I think you may be a little slanted. No problem though. Maybe you can educate some of the democrats that don't understand the obvious on here. As far as you being more informed than me? I don't listen to Rush and the others you mentioned. That little phrase is another overused line from the left. Similar to the right mentioning Jesse Jackson and Sharpton, etc. If you read some of my other posts, you see how I feel about all of them. I am more educated than that. I research plenty, back up my arguments and openly admit to being a Republican.

@ spark..What is it that makes conservatives lump people into various stereotypes? I am not a Democrat, I am an Independent but I am not so ignorant to believe that people should all be classified under one label and assuming everyone under that label is exactly alike. I am also aware that there are very wealthy people who contribute to Democratic campaigns. I do not believe that all wealthy people are Republicans. I also do not believe that money falls from the sky, your ignorant statement. The definition of ignorance is uninformed. I spend a minimum of 2 hours each day researching the issues. I refuse to use partisan/biased sites. The only sites I use are the CBO, Poltifact. BLS, Whitehouse papers and Project Vote Smart. I will read blogs for an opinion but I also will only read blogs that cite their sources and I then check out those sources. I would bet I am much more informed than you. I would also bet that you believe you are the most informed, repeating Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity verbatim, you are actually MISinformed. Why don't you research the issues and inform yourself instead of continuing the stereotypes and misinformation you've been fed.

Regarding Republican vs. Democratic fund raising....now let me think about any recent elections where the Republicans and the Democrats raised significant funds. Oh yes, the gubernatorial recall election here in Wisconsin where Republicans outspent the Democrats about 7 or 8 to one even though the Democrats apparently our raised the poor down and out Republicans. Got it! The Republican money must have come from somewhere like rain from heaven maybe.

So if the Democrats raise so much money and the poor, unfortunate, down and out Republican's such as the Koch Brothers don't like it, getting a constitutional amendment to fix the problem that the citizens united ruling created should have broad appeal and easily get passed. Spark, usaret and gonfo, please acknowledge that you agree with the amendment idea to get some of this secret money out of politics and even it up for the poor unfortunate, down in their luck Tea Party Republicans like DH. I am awaiting your response.

usaret - That's because the left wingers actually believe their party takes no money from the rich. They believe their contributions and funds fall from the sky like magic. No democrat is rich in their eyes because they are literally blinded with ignorance. It's actually comical when you think about it. That someone could be that naive. Yikes! Newsflash..check the recall list on some of those that owed the most in backed taxes. They were loaded democrats. LOL.

Wow the republican's have a long way until they catch up with what Obama has raised for his campaign. To date, Obama has raised $255,162,109.00 for his campaign and Romney only $121,023,126.00. Seems a little fishy to me since according to most who post on here only republican's are allowed to be rich and prosper. Romney's fund doesn't even equate to half of the supreme being's fund! How about attacking Obama for a while about how many kids he could feed with what he raised. I'll give him this, he's a pathetic excuse for a president, but he should become a fund raiser for a charity or something along that nature, because he's really good at raising money for his cause!

More where that came from...he has a personal friend. All you need to do, Mitt, is promise to outlaw collective bargaining, get rid of Social Security, do away with Medicare, make sure she gets all appropriate (and some inappropriate) government contracts and promise to have security keep the poor, the sick, the lame, the peasants, the beggars and the under class away from the carriage as they survey their kingdoms.
