JANESVILE—A Janesville woman was arrested for her sixth operating while intoxicated charge early Saturday after police witnessed her driving the wrong way on a one-way street toward a patrol officer’s vehicle, police reported.

According to a news release from the Janesville Police Department:

Janesville police arrested Dawn M. Kuennen, 50, 1811 Green Forest Run No. 210, Janesville, for sixth-offense OWI after officers pulled over Kuennen’s vehicle at 1:06 a.m. Saturday at Forest Park Boulevard and East Court Street.

Kuennen told police she had been drinking and was in trouble for “drunk driving.” She reportedly smelled of intoxicants and failed a field sobriety test.

Kuennen had five prior OWI convictions.

A blood test for alcohol intoxication is pending. Kuennen is being held at Rock County Jail.
