Rock County Historical Society hires new executive director
Mike Reuter has accepted the position of executive director for the Rock County Historical Society and the Lincoln Tallman Campus, according to a news release from the organization.
Reuter will leave his job as director of operations/curator coordinator at the Milwaukee County Historical Society to start his new position in Janesville on Monday, July 16.
He was selected from a pool of 35 candidates, the release said.

He will need to put his working gloves on as much of the labor work that is done at the facilities is done by the director as in the past. He will be doing minor and some major repairs along with house keeping. There is no money for extra help and I hope he understands what he is getting himself into.

Joe, the RCHS is an independent non-profit. As operator of the Tallman House, which is owned by the City, they are partially funded by tax dollars; the remainder is private donations and the society's own endowment. Reuter is not a city employee.
