BTC expands off-hours offerings
More night classes this fall at Blackhawk Technical College will boost local workers’ opportunities, officials said.
BTC has offered night classes for a long time, but the increase will allow students to complete associate degrees entirely during the evening, officials said.
Programs affected are accounting, business management, early childhood education and human resources.

When I graduated in 1978 from the College of Lake County(Grayslake, Il), most of my classes were at night. I took many of them at different high schools in the county, the college offered many basic classes at sites thru out the county to cut driving times and expenses for students. They also have at least 2 permanent satellite campuses, and serve the sailors at Great Lakes Naval Station. They are required by law to offer any class demanded by x number of students(15 was the last number I heard)Local industry(like Abbott Labs)gives input as to the type of education it looks for in a workforce. For the most part, I prefer Wisconsin, but when it comes to schools that serve the working people, I have yet to find the equal of good ol' CLC

This was needed about 10 years ago, if not more. It took much longer to finish anything for me because I could only take classes at night, and some degree programs still have day only required classes. That makes absolutely no sense and is just one more clue as to how behind the times BTC is.
...and yes, Upper Iowa is a joke. Don't bother.

They have had night classes for decades. This is an expansion of night classes.

Hats off to all those who have fought through the hard work of family, job and also getting an education, all at the same time.

About time they offer night classes!!!! They've lost out on a lot of students because they haven't. I know a lot who would take classes but work during the day. Not to mention all those paying three times as much in tuition at Upper Iowa and getting less education. As a student of both schools, I'd much rather be educated at BTC with hands on learning rather than what I've dealt with in the majority of classes at UIU.
