UPDATE: Illinois man killed in motorcycle crash
CLINTON TOWNSHIP—Chad E. Odling, 36, of Harvard, Ill., was killed after a single motorcycle crash early Saturday morning, according to a Rock County Sheriff’s Office news release.
Deputies along with Clinton Fire and EMS crews responded to the crash at 2:33 a.m. on Highway 140 near East State Line Road in the town of Clinton.
The investigation indicates a 1990 BMW motorcycle was traveling south on Highway 140 when it failed to negotiate a curve near East State Line Road, causing the motorcycle to enter the ditch on its side before hitting a culvert and ejecting Odling, according to the release.
Rock County Coroner Jenifer Keach pronounced Odling dead at the scene.
Both alcohol and speed appear to have been factors in the crash, according to the release.
