Wis. court won't rehear union case without justice

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The state Supreme Court won't reconsider a lawsuit challenging Gov. Scott Walker's collective bargaining law without Justice Michael Gableman.

Dane County District Attorney Ismael Ozanne had argued Republicans violated the state's open meetings law during debate on the measure. The Supreme Court ruled in June 2011 the law stands.

Ozanne in December asked the court to reconsider the case. He argued the Michael, Best & Friedrich law firm both defended the law and gave Justice Michael Gableman free legal help in the past, raising questions of impropriety.

The prosecutor demanded Gableman recuse himself from further proceedings. Gableman refused, saying he could be impartial.

The Supreme Court tied 3-3 Friday on Ozanne's request to rehear the case without Gableman. It would have taken four votes to proceed.

Yada....let it go! No one cares......the "investigation" has been going on for over two years and hasn't resulted in anything meaningful......aside from giving the whacked out fringe element of the democrat party something to hang all of their hopes on:) You lost....you need to come to terms with this fact.......

rex......lose the Nazi references as well.....Unlike President Obama, Walker has gone though the legislature to get approval on every major agenda he has put forth. Labeling him as the "fuhrer" just makes you look stupid......

rex....Labor unions have donated more than twice as much campaign money to Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson when compared to the other six Wisconsin Supreme Court justices combined, yet she did not recuse herself from any of the cases dealing with union legislation. We are all well aware of obvious bias she showed in her decisions supporting those who financially supported her. Judging by your comments regarding Gableman, I am sure you would have a similar problem with Abrahamson and the unions as well.....no??

"The whining is coming from the same lefties that have no problem with the lead investigator of the John doe investigation having a recall walker sign in his yard."
>
Yes, because putting a free cardboard sign in your own yard and accepting free legal services and getting paid from said client are exactly the same thing. Apparently you aren't allowed to have a personal opinion on things if you're a public figure unless that opinion is in alignment with the fuhrer.

I can't believe that some of you have no problem with this. I always had pride in Wisconsin that we were honest and cared about our reputation - win or lose. It is no longer the case. Now we have a court that has sold out to the highest bidder and sees no problem in doing so.

Hey Bucky....and the internet is a good place to look for scientific studies and reports that are unbiased and factual... We all know that everything you read on the net is true...right??

I don't think you will EVER find an unbiased report anywhere. Facts are facts, well unless you look at the facts, then it depends on who is sending the "factual" information.

Until people open their eyes to the truth around them, they will continue to blame the people who are in the same boat they are for everything and continue to vote against their own self interest. Wisconsin has the best government money can buy. This will continue until you educate yourself with independent news sources, no network news at all and no radio talking heads. Local newspapers and the internet is a good place to look for scientific studies and reports that are unbiased and factual. The information is out there but you have to educate yourself.

Every issue brought before the court is decided strictly along party lines. Our court is a joke incapable of independent thought. It's reached the point of absurdity

What a joke the four Tea Party justices are. This kind of repeatedly overlooking conflict of interest was unheard of until this crew got in there. They appear to be the best justices that money can buy.
