Paralympic skiing cup series headed to Wisconsin
CABLE—Wisconsin will play host to an international disabled skiing competition later this week.
The 2012 International Paralympic Committee Nordic Skiing World Cup Series will stop in Cable beginning Thursday. The event will run through Monday.
Disabled competitors from at least 15 countries will participate in biathlon or cross-country races. They’ll also get a chance to go ice fishing on Lake Namekagon.
The state Department of Natural Resources says world champion Katarzyna Rogowiec of Poland is expected to attend. Rogowiec lost both forearms in a childhood farming accident.
