WAUKESHA, Wis. (AP) — Omnicare Inc. plans to close in Waukesha and eliminate 78 jobs there.

The Cincinnati company notified the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development that the job losses include 61 hourly and 17 salaried positions.

Omnicare said it expects to begin eliminating those jobs on Feb. 22 and will continue until the closure is completed in March.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that the company said the closure was prompted by the consolidation of the Waukesha operations with a location in Milwaukee.

I remember Walker saying that he has now made this a great state to do business in.

Well let's see how much more Republicans and Democrats can screw up this state.

I hope, one day RAF, you get over your fringe fetish. Its unhealthy for a grown man to be so drawn to fringe.

Typical left fringe, complain of things being bad in Milwaukee and remain silent on Mayor Tom.

People really need to get a clue on how business works, to give credit or blame to a politician for a private business cutting or adding jobs is seriously a sign of insanity.

I can tell you there are MANY skilled labor jobs open in Wisconsin. Contact the Wisconsin work force (I think that is what it is called) and they will get you in touch with those jobs. You may have to relocate in the state, I know relocate is such a BAD word, but you will be able to have a job.

Thousands of "new jobs" in the state? Really? Wondering who is hiring? I have family in the Milwaukee area and things seem to be getting worse there not better. I also find it interesting that Darlene and the the rest of the right wing weirdo crowd leans on the DWD numbers when they work in their favor and writes them off when they don't.
These are the same people that attribute every job gained to Governor Hair in a Can, and every Job loss is blamed on the Kenyan Muslim Socialist president, or Vise versa depending on your partisan affiliation.

Too bad the AP doesn't like to report on job gains in Wisconsin. Why do job losses make democrats elated? Actually, it is a consolidation, the business is not closing.

Metro area gained 5,200 jobs in November, agency reports

"The four-county metro Milwaukee area gained 5,200 jobs in November, according to preliminary estimates released Thursday by the state Department of Workforce Development.

Of the state's 12 major metro areas, eight showed job gains and four showed losses. The metro area includes Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Washington and Waukesha counties."

If there was a positive here...wislady would be trumpeting..."Milwaukee gains 78 jobs thanks to Governor Walker."

Not the case? Go figure.

I am still not sure if the state is losing the jobs or not, and it seems no one else is either.

This article is misleading to me. Is the state losing the jobs or the city? It sounds like they are consolidating two factories into one and moving the Waukesha plant to Milwaukee.
As far as blaming the Governor that song and dance gets old. This is a GLOBAL company and sells worldwide. Is the Governor responsible for the economics of the world now too?

I can't remember if Walker said he was going to add 250,000 jobs or eliminate 250,000 jobs. But I am guessing it must be to eliminate jobs.
