Pridemore launches run for state superintendent
MADISON—Republican state Rep. Don Pridemore says he wants to be Wisconsin’s top education leader to bring a conservative approach to the job and increase the connection between schools and businesses.
Pridemore launched his candidacy Monday in Madison.
He is taking on incumbent Tony Evers, who has held the nonpartisan job of secretary of the Department of Public Instruction since 2009.
Pridemore says he will offer a “common sense, conservative approach” to the job. Pridemore has been one of the most conservative members of the Legislature and introduced an immigration reform bill similar to what passed in Arizona.
Pridemore says he will work closely with Gov. Scott Walker’s administration as state superintendent.
Walker has said he may not endorse anyone in the race.

I can agree they have more concerns than just education.
So is the info about ALEC's plans for education incorrect?
What concerns me is ALEC installing a member as head of WDPI.

"All they want is privatized education."

They have concerns over more than just poorly run public and private education systems. If that is what you mean.

hattip to the private message to address thekai, as I skipped right passed the comments.
I agree thekai has become frustrated in previous conversations due to the fact I have not fallen for the elitist liberal attitude. I do question his/her positions, something that person does not like. I refuse to bow to others ideals, as I have my own. I respect all personal positions that in no way means I agree with them. If you don't want your position questioned then don't provide it. If you expect me to bend over and change mine because you don't like it...you are indeed wasting your time. Declaring your position is correct and mine is wrong as a reason to avoid conflict is just a deflection technique for those who have problems when questioned.

Pastafarian the idea of making silly comments about a conservative organization with complaints originating from a liberal organization makes what conclusion in the end? If you don't like something fine, at least have your own reasons for it.

“Non-Partisan” State Superint. Tony Evers Raises Campaign Cash From ActBlue, Buys Lists From Dems

Remember Evers 2009 campaign?
"Jeff Dickert is the administrator of the Cooperative Educational Service Agency #7, a state agency that coordinates with the schools of Northeastern Wisconsin. Dickert, in clear violation of the law, has been doing political work on behalf of the teachers union and AFSCME backed candidate, the entrenched Tony Evers. Jeff Dickert has used state resources to not only campaign, but to raise money for Evers, by using his official Wisconsin email account and email list to campaign to public school administrators of Wisconsin and encourages them to pass the message along to their principals and teachers. This is clearly a violation of the law by a public official that is in a position that clearly knows the rules for doing political work with state resources. State Representative Scott Jensen was charged and convicted of this very thing a year and a half ago."

If the position is "non partisan", why did Evers purchase the list from democrats to raise money for his campaign?
He has also enlisted ActBlue for campaign funds, hardly "non partisan". One would wonder if either tactic is legal.

Some people would rather be right than correct, others, left. Seldom is the voice of reason exhibited on these posts, but, thekai, I always enjoy your contributions. You are certainly correct in your most recent observation.

Pastafarian,
It is unreasonably difficult ever get him to concede a single point, even in the face of bold evidence. There are a lot of far right wing bloggers on this website far more reasonable than the one you are trying to get to. As far as he is concerned, if it's not a possibility in his own mind, it's definitely an impossibility. I hate to say this, but trying to get him to agree to even something small, let alone a moderate concept, is by and large a waste of your time. Even if you can get him to concede something, it will be small. Some people don't want to consider that they could be wrong. That is something you can't force. For most of us, it comes with maturity.

Don Pridemore was a proud sponsor to Glenn Grothman's single parent act, and he was not scared to outcrazy Grothman(yes I did not know it was possible either):
Remember earlier this month when another Wisconsin lawmaker thoughtfully suggested that maybe single parenthood should be considered a factor that may be indicative of child abuse? Pridemore was a co-sponsor of the bill that would've made it a crime for a person to dare try to raise a child on their own outside of the pillowy soft Magic Zone of marriage. But what about women who are being abused by their husbands? Shouldn't they have the option to extract themselves from an unhealthy situation? Nope, says Pridemore. And he's got some expert abused spouse marital advice as well: "If they can refind those reasons and get back to why they got married in the first place it might help."
...
A new wrinkle has surfaced as the bills’ co-sponsor, Representative Don Pridemore (R-Heartless Scumbag) has gone on the record as opposing divorce even in the event of a abusive spouse.
So if you are a woman regularly being beaten by your husband, you are a bad mother if you seek a divorce.
“If they can refind those reasons and get back to why they got married in the first place it might help,” said Representative Don Pridemore.

Pridemore has been one of the most conservative members of the Legislature and introduced an immigration reform bill similar to what passed in Arizona.
As a conservative he's a failure. The Arizona legislation came from ALEC. This Representative has shown he can not or will not think for himself.
Pridemore says he will work closely with Gov. Scott Walker’s administration as state superintendent.
Walker has said he may not endorse anyone in the race.

Yes, I will do as ALEC tells me to.
.
This is what you can expect to take shape in Wisconsin if Pridemore is successful in his bid for office.
