Sen. Johnson calls for GOP candidate to step aside
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Republican U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson is calling on Missouri U.S. Rep. Todd Akin to drop out of the Senate race in that state following comments Akin made about rape.
Akin said in an interview Sunday that women’s bodies are able to prevent pregnancies in cases of what he called “a legitimate rape.”
Johnson issued a statement Monday calling the comments “reprehensible and inexcusable.”
Johnson said gaining a Republican majority in the Senate and fixing the country’s problems are more important than any one person’s political ambitions. He says Akin “should do the right thing for the nation and step aside today, so Missouri Republicans can put forth a candidate that can win in November.”
Akin is running against Democratic incumbent Sen. Claire McCaskill in Missouri.

It's more for them to be able to avoid talking about Obama's failures. Obama sat in an American hate filled racist church for 20 years. Don't need to research that. And promotes birth abortions. That's sick!

People need to be very cautious of the double-talk of Romney, Ryan and the Republican party platform on abortion.
"Romney and his running mate Paul condemned Akin’s remarks and pledged that under a Romney administration, abortion would be allowed in the case of rape. An exemption for rape, though, is not included in the platform set to be adopted by the party Romney will officially lead when nomination next week.
And Ryan, his vice presidential pick, has opposed exceptions for rape and voted alongside Akin in the House, though Ryan now says he defers to Romney’s position on the matter." [ http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/201... ]
Some moral conviction on Ryan's part, isn't it? Who do you believe? Paul Ryan since elected? Paul Ryan since yesterday? Romney? Or the Republican platform? I say trust none of them!

Sorry, but the EPA was passed in 1964. The LL Act is NOT the EPA Act.
Equal Pay Act of 1963
The Equal Pay Act of 1963 is a United States federal law amending the Fair Labor Standards Act, aimed at abolishing wage disparity based on sex (see Gender pay gap). It was signed into law on June 10, 1963 by John F. Kennedy as part of his New Frontier Program.[1] In passing the bill, Congress denounces sex discrimination[citation needed] for the following reasons:
It depresses wages and living standards for employees necessary for their health and efficiency;
it prevents the maximum utilization of the available labor resources
it tends to cause labor disputes, thereby burdening, affecting, and obstructing commerce;
it burdens commerce and the free flow of goods in commerce; and
it constitutes an unfair method of competition.

LOL, and the left wing circus spins and spins regardless of the facts.
- Unemployment over 8% for over 3 1/2 years.
- The national debt larger than the size of the US economy.
- Our nations bond rating lowered for the first time in history.
- No national budget for over 3 years.
- Historic levels of national deficits.
- For every dollar spent the nation is borrowing 40 cents.
No worries though, the current president says the private economy is doing just fine...

Interestingly the left fringe is trying to draw Ryan and/or Romney into what the person running for office in another state said. The current media game, echoed here by sheeple, is the cosponsoring of legislation. The real facts behind this are there were 277 cosponsors, to include members of both political parties that cosponsored that bill; a fringe tie at its best by the deflectors.

To want planned parenthood and women to have a choice is not repeat NOT promoting abortion Actually it is preventing it by the women not getting PREGNANT and if not pregnant then no fetus thus no abortion. "Congressman's Akin comments on rape are insulting, inexcusable, and, frankly, wrong. Like millions of other Americans, we found them to be offensive." - Mitt Romney's follow-up comment on Akin's comments.
Even if the diehard conservatives on this site can't bring themselves to admit it, Mitt Romney just did. And good for Mitt Romney for his statement. And good for Ron Johnson to rebuke the comments.
I'd be interested to hear Paul Ryan's reaction, in his own words, to his buddy Akin's comments. Ryan and Akin, as co-sponsors of H.R. 3 to redefine the meaning of rape, have been lockstep on trying to legislate that there are different types of rape. In the case of the bill they co-sponsored, they tried to create a new class of rape called "forcible" rape. As though some other class of rape isn't forcible? Excuse me!!!
"Akin and Ryan were the original co-sponsors of the controversial bill H.R. 3, “No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act,” which initially included language which changed the definition of “rape” to “forcible rape,” until public pressure forced the bill’s supporters to remove that unacceptable and narrow definition. As I wrote previously, Paul Ryan is not just anti-choice, his anti-choice views are extreme and just plain bad for all women." [ http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/the_rum... ]
