Wis. Democratic Party runs ad in governor's race
MADISON, Wis. -- The Wisconsin Democratic Party is running its first television ad of the governor's race, attacking Republican candidate Scott Walker's decision to campaign after floods hit Milwaukee last weekend.
The ad shows Walker campaigning in Eau Claire instead of staying in Milwaukee County where he serves as county executive. Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, the main Democratic candidate for governor, stayed in the city over the weekend. The ad shows him meeting with flood victims.
The ad called "Barrett Led, Walker Fled" is slated to run in Eau Claire, Wausau and Green Bay.
Former U.S. Rep. Mark Neumann is also running for governor as a Republican but the ad does not mention him.

The ad is very misleading. Everyone down here in Milwaukeee knows that Walker stayed here the day of the flood and the day after the flood. He visited the devastated areas and for the next several days worked on the disaster. He was in Eau Claire days after the flooding. Why is that not reported in this article? The media in Milwaukee covered it like that!

The recession began in December 2007 under George W. Bush. The recovery began last year between July and September. Sorry about the facts.

Red, I guess you don't understand how local government operates. If the city doesn't request help, the county just can't jump in and take over...
Since the major flooding occurred in municipal areas, under control of the failed MMSD which is also run by the city of milwaukee mayor (running for governor) the last thing politically he wanted to do was ask for help from his opponent.
The delay in doyle filling the request for federal aid and barrett never requesting county assistance are things that just go over your head, and over the head of the wis state dem party as evidenced by their video.

Well if they play the ad where he's campaigning, he'll be back in Milwaukee sooner than he probably anticipated. I swear, once you enter politics, you seem to lose your human compassion. And he just showed everyone where his priorities are. Hopefully come voting season, WI residents will return the favor.

Evidently Republican leadership constitutes filing the necessary paperwork then taking the day off to campaign. Besides as the Milwaukee County Executive, what good would it do for Walker to stay in Milwaukee and make any effort to assist those in need. Obviously Barrett had it covered. A good leader files their paperwork on time then moves on to more important leadership stuff while they wait for others to finish their task. Good call RAF and chuckie!

Wonder why the ad didn't show doyle not completing his offices version of the needed emergency paperwork, they stated milwaukee county (walkers office) had not provided them with everything. When doyle's office was corrected and told they had received everything doyle backed down and then his office completed the needed emergency paperwork.
So the dem party is accusing walker of not being on the job, yet is was their state party leader who held up the much needed emergency paperwork to garner federal aide for the citizens of milwaukee county...while walker was waiting for THEM to finish it.
