Clinton man arrested after Sunday standoff
CLINTON TOWNSHIP—A Clinton man is in custody at the Rock County Jail after a standoff Sunday night in Clinton Township. Officers from six law enforcement agencies responded to 10406 S. Highway 140 after receiving a report of an armed subject inside the house.
Randy A. Clark, 49, Clinton, was arrested on charges of recklessly endangering safety/domestic violence, disorderly conduct/domestic violence and a felony warrant through Rockford police, according to a Rock County Sheriff’s office press release.
Rock County sheriff’s deputies, along with officers from the Clinton Police Department and troopers from the Wisconsin State Patrol were dispatched at 10:06 p.m. Sunday to Clark’s house, the release said.
Clark was reported to be intoxicated and had possibly fired a shot from a firearm inside the house where two people were able to escape by jumping out of a second-story window, the release said.
Less than 15 minutes after the initial call, the Rock County and Beloit SWAT teams along with the Dane County Sheriff’s Department Bearcat and deputies also were called to assist, according to the release.
Members of the Rock County Sheriff’s Office hostage/negotiations team were eventually able to make contact with Clark inside the house, and shortly after 1:30 a.m. Monday he surrendered and was peacefully taken into custody, the release said.
Upon further investigation, deputies found that Clark had a loaded rifle, but it had not been fired, according to the release.

catdog,
I have observed your posts about these standoffs and shootings and anything that has to do with Govt or Police. It is clear you are quite clearly insane or should be on your own island. if you live in Walworth Co., please move. Move to China, North Korea or Iran if it's that bad there, then you will get a picture of how oppressive your Police State is. I look forward to your posts about Chinese, Iranian or North Korean cops shooting people. In reality, we probably wouldn't see those post because after you so spoke out and spew your rhetoric like you do here, no one would ever find you. The fact of the matter as people want to continue to sit around their house, drink, get into fights and have domestics, then make the wise choice of bringing guns into the mix, they run the risk of bringing harm to themselves. It strikes me that in all these standoffs we read about, just how many end peacefully with no one getting hurt. How many hours have some of these standoffs lasted and suspects still shot at the Police. Have there been exceptions, yeah of course, but that path was chosen by the suspects, by shooting at the Police. In only 1 case in the last few months was fire returned and the suspect hit and the threat stopped. It strikes me as funny that you expect an Officer to get seriously hurt or killed when a guy comes out of his house shooting at them..why is that ok with you? instead, you spew "conspiracy theories" and insist there is a cover up of some sorts. Maybe instead of armchair quarterbacking on here, you could "ruck up" put on the Kevlar Vest and gun to go to work everyday and put your rear end on the line and face some of the crap your Police Officers, that you treat with such disdain on here, go through. Maybe someone can take some shots at you. Your perspective would soon change. I doubt you would do that though. Blowhards like you don't understand words like "Honor" "sacrifice" and "service" You ought to thank your lucky stars you have Police as well trained and professional where you live. Shake their hand and say: "Thank you" so stop thinking there is some cover up around every corner, follow the rest of the Lemmings to Fantasy Island. I'm sure you will be happy with your like minded ilk and oxygen thieves, but please just move and go away if you don't like it.

copland - I had a visual in my head from your last post. (Like a mini-movie!) It had better be a damn big tree or catdog will be gone sooner than later.

yeah...even if he's behind a tree. do you know how big the tree was? you go stand behind a tree and let me come at you shooting. would like someone to end that threat or just let me keep shooting and eventually I'll get to that tree and get you. maybe you can get on the new Jesse Ventura show about conpiracy theories.

catdog...I'm sure if he would have pointed his gun and shot it at the police then they would have shot him like they did in Walworth County. That's what happens.

I like reading these blogs yet get frustrated when people attack one another for their beliefs and opinions. This is another example of the hard times were in. Some people react differently. But for the grace of GOD there go I.

To clarify, I'm not saying that is a valid excuse for stupid behavior. But, it may well be the root cause.

SarahB1- I would think the local economy factors in somewhere in most or all of the recent stand-off's. You still have these kind of things when the economy is stable, I bet this trend keeps spiralling upward.

Ok Boob... I mean Bobb...Your comments are dumb. Only someone dumb would see the humor in a SWAT call. Maybe you should think before you speak and think about the entire situation because if your "SGT" friend told you the entire story, I bet he would have told you how serious and NOT FUNNY it was and HOW COLD it had to be standing outside.
And Beeferer - thanks for the heads up about boob...

bobb - was that suppose to be funny? I failed to find the humor in that. People could have been seriously injured. I'm glad you think you can crack jokes.
