Madison airport’s August passenger numbers up
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — More passengers are traveling in and out of the Dane County Regional Airport in Madison.
The airport says the number of passengers arriving to Madison increased 8.1 percent and the number departing increased 8.7 percent in August compared to a year ago.
In the first eight months of 2009, there has been a 4.7 percent overall increase in arrivals and a 5.4 percent increase in departures over last year.
More than 500,000 people have arrived or departed from the Dane County Regional Airport so far this year.

I wonder if the larger increase in departures vs arrivals is new (possibly people leaving the state in search of employment or retiring elsewhere) or if more people always leave via the Madison airport than arrive (possibly the Van Galder bus line picking up more people at O'Hare than they take down there)?
