Lawton grabs endorsements while others ponder run
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — While Democrats ponder whether to enter Wisconsin's governor's race, Lt. Gov. Barbara Lawton is collecting endorsements.
Lawton is the most prominent Democrat whose announced they are running next year to replace Gov. Jim Doyle. U.S. Rep. Ron Kind from La Crosse and Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett are the biggest names considering joining the race.
But Lawton announced right after Doyle said he wouldn't seek a third term.
This week she won the endorsements of Democratic state Sen. Jim Sullivan from Wauwatosa and the local union of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees.
The union says it backs Lawton because she worked hard to create jobs for its members. Sullivan says Lawton knows how to work with the Legislature to get things done.

Those are the lamest 2 endorsements I've ever seen listed in an article.

This story is laughable...and not worthy of its placement Sen. Sullivan is the most politically vulnerable member of the State Senate, and why he'd already hitch his train to Lawton makes me scratch my head. And a union for theatre-types??? Well, who else are they going to endorse but someone like Lawton who skips around the state and says that the arts are a key economic driver.
