ELKHORN — A Burlington man described by authorities as one of the main heroin dealers in the Lake Geneva area was sentenced Friday to 14 years in prison.

Eric L. McIntyre, 30, of N2402 Charles Young Drive, Burlington, also was sentenced to six years of extended supervision.

Deputy District Attorney Joshua Grube, who prosecutes most Walworth County drug cases, said McIntyre is dangerous and county authorities had focused a great deal of resources to capture him.

McIntyre pleaded guilty to manufacturing and possessing heroin with intent to deliver and two counts of possession of firearm by felon. Seven other charges, mostly for possession of firearm by felon and manufacture with intent to deliver heroin, were dismissed but read in.

What is sad is that the Fort Atkinson man that drove drunk and killed a man and his son on their way to a basketball game was also sentenced to 14 years in prison. What is wrong with this picture? Oh yeah, it's Wisconsin. Driving drunk is ok. Selling drugs is not.

He Should of gotten a stiffer Sentence if he was already a felon in possesion of a Firearm and as Dangerous as they make him out to be, and dealing herion too boot....lock em up for good. they Should be comming down hard on Herion, Cocaine, Meth, these are all substances that will kill and ruin lives, turn you into a shell of your former self.

Inyafaze: I agree with the first part of your statement (Dealers)should do hard time for hard drugs. but dont you think users should get treatment some kind of help because it could be your son or daughter ? and ps there is no herion manufacturing here in the USA......Mexico,Pakistan, Turkey, Iran, India, Lebanon and Khirgistan,Afghanistan,Southeast Asia,Burma those are the places it is manufactured and shipped here from all ready to go. The law was wrote to encompass many Different Substances.

Gotta say I'm a little disappointed. I tuned into this for a laugh or two from the pro-pot crowd's posts. Maybe I'm too early.
