EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — Minnesota Vikings coach Brad Childress wants to avoid what happened to Eric Mangini.

Childress told Brett Favre he'd rather save the $25,000 for college tuition for his kids.

The NFL recently fined Mangini and the New York Jets for their failure to list Favre on the injury report last season with his throwing arm hurt. Favre is fairly beat up at this stage of his career, so Childress was asked how he will approach the report each week when it comes to the 39-year-old quarterback.

"You have to be transparent about it," Childress said.

So far, Favre hasn't appeared on the report.

The coach told Favre after practice Thursday if he needs to list Favre on the report "with every mucous membrane" on his body he'll do that to avoid a fine.

I wonder if that includes his daily doses of "Geritol."
