JANESVILLE—Corey L. Standfield was placed today at the Rock Valley Community Programs, 203 W. Sunny Lane, according to a press release from the Rock County Sheriff’s Office.

Standfield, 31, was convicted of attempted first-degree sexual assault of a child in February of 1998 after approaching a 9-year-old female, and 6-year-old and 8-year-old boys on the bike trail. He sent the boys on an errand, grabbed the girl by the hand and told her he wanted to have sex with her then pulled down his pants and the victim’s pants and underwear, the press release said.

When the victims’ friends returned and she yelled, Standfield stopped the children from leaving then demanded each child smoke a cigarette or he would cut them with the knife he waved in front of their faces. Standfield also repeatedly hugged and touched the buttocks of a teen female stranger after she told him to stop, the press release said.

Standfield is to have no contact with minors, his victims or patronize any taverns, bars or liquor stores. He also is not suppose to consume alcohol or drugs and must comply with sex offender rules in addition to cooperating with electronic monitoring. He is required to have face-to-face contact with law enforcement and must comply with all requirements and be a lifetime registrant of the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registration Program, the press release said.

I agree this guy should NOT be let out of prison! TOTALLY agree!! Thank you for understanding my point. They need to do more education in the schools to kids about consequences of dating a freshman when you are a senior or younger girls. This can come back to haunt them and they will be thrown in the same group as this sicko!

schnacstac....., what nastiness? My post only stated what you stated on another story. That record still exists. But even so, you chose to request that two truths based on your own statements be deleted. The post was deleted because staff is not in a position to research all posts.

You are continuing one of your previous statements here: defending the indefensible. Of all the things you could be defending, you are here defending (based on fine lines) people who attack minors.

I agree I would want more details, and yes I understand that at 17 or 18 your choices are in the moment and later can come back to haunt you. Nevertheless, my biggest issue is why he is being set free. Yes, Free and he is out of prison.

gazettefan, I'm not going to engage with your nastiness.......

wannabe, the 17 year old is also a sex offender for life and falls in the list of people you think you should be scared of. That's all I'm trying to say. There are many men who have cases like this and are labelled and compared to men like this sicko above. I was just trying to show you there are differences that the registry does not explain. Sometimes(and more often then not) we do not need to be fearful. I wish they put the details of the cases online also so the fear wouldn't be so huge. Wouldn't you want to know that instead of thinking there are so many out there who are out to get little kids? I know as a parent I would! I don't want to be scared if I don't have to. Fear creates hate. Assumptions also create fear....

It does not matter if it is against someone’s will then it is wrong no matter what age. The 17 year old you are talking about may have been consensual sex with a younger girl that was probably mommy and daddy or she did not get the commitment she wanted. This man is sick and should not be let out period.

There is also a thing called Special Bulletin Release, which means they HAVE to notify the public when someone is realeased. If they do NOT fall under this, then they are NOT a threat to the public! This article would be a part of that release. They also probably had to knock on the doors of all the neighbors in the surrounding area.

I didn't say it wasn't wrong, but there are different levels. How about the 35 year old guy who now has a wife and family and at 17 he had sex with a girl who was younger? Sometimes this conviction looks the same as the man above! So, that's where individualization needs to play! People just need to seperate the words SEX OFFENDER and PEDOPHILE, they ARE different!

I do not care what you call it, having sexual contract with a child is wrong. So is forcing someone any age to have sex is wrong. So education is not what I need, what I need is to feel safe for my family and myself.

There is a HUGE difference between someone who takes kids off the street! It is a PROVEN fact that MOST of the time it's someone the person knows!! There is also a HUGE difference between a guy who was 17 or 18 and it was conscentual between the two but the girl was a little youg!!! HUGE HUGE HUGE DIFFERENCES!!! Sex offender does NOT mean pedophile!!! This guy IS a pedophile!! The Frosty freeze guy is a hebophile!! Do you KNOW the difference?? A hebophile is someone who prefers children AFTER puberty and their offenses usually do NOT include rape! They too are also sickened by someone touching a youg child! They find a justification that they are young adults so it's OK. I'm not saying it's right, but I am saying I am not scared that Kip will try to hurt my little kids!! A pedophile is someone who prefers children BEFORE puberty and usually has no prefrence to the sex of the child!
I am SO SICK of the ignorant stereotypes!! If you are going to judge and stand on your judgements so hard get EDUCATED about it!! We have enough unfounded hate in this country already!! Did you also know we have tons of sexoffenders that are labeled that because of flashing someone?? I mean really, do you want to be scared of things and people you do not need to be??

No, they are all over; I am thinking maybe some land up north wooded and far away from a road a dream I know. It doesn’t matter we have this everywhere but come on we need to do something no more light sentences.

You can thank ABC Supply and the board members of Rock Township for providing a place for the steady stream of sex offenders that Rock County Community Programs takes in. Only a handful that you actually hear of.

Why aren't these perves placed in general population prison? That way we don't have to pay anymore as taxpayers and our kids are safe from them? Let the prisoners do their jobs from the inside to help protect our kids!

No, Kip doesn't get a free pass and what he did is not ok but I just find it odd that out of the blue Frosty Freeze is pulled in to the conversation with this story.

We need to worry about ALL registered and non registered sex offenders.
Not just some. Also I would never take my children to the business of a registered sex offender. That's like saying its OK and you're endorsing it.

Why would you bring the Frosty Freeze guy in to this as a comparison? That event was nothing at all even close to this.

Now while all of you were worried about Frosty Freeze, THIS is someone to worry about! Just sick, plain SICK!
