Bears LB Urlacher out for season

LAKE FOREST, Ill. — Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher will miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery to repair his dislocated right wrist — a major blow for a team with high expectations.

Team spokesman Jim Christman confirmed a Chicago Tribune report Monday, saying "Brian did have surgery this morning and he is out for the remainder of the season." Urlacher had said in a text message to the newspaper that his "season is over."

Urlacher, a 10-year veteran, apparently was injured in the first quarter of Sunday night’s 21-15 loss at Green Bay making a tackle on Packers running back Ryan Grant. He played in the second quarter, but left on the Packers' first drive of the second half.

When Favre was WITH the Packers. He never threw a dirty hit.. Never. I can not explain his descent into evil since joining the vikings.... Oh yes I can. The vikings are evil.

Ummm, if this had happened to Favre 2 or 3 years ago there would be a HUGE public outcry. But because it's a Bear, everybody laughs.

who cares, it is da Bears. Urlacher had his prime time a few seasons ago and time for him to retire. He is just an average player now and not as good as he once was. We all get old unfortunately.

One has to wonder how long the Bear's can continue to carry him, he sure can not stay healthy and he's not getting any younger.

NVgirl, I'm not sure what the Cubs' excuse is but I think it has something to do with a goat. ;=)

A perfect excuse for the rest of the season for my Bear fan friends. I wonder what the Cub's excuse was this season!

as far as Rodgers sliding?? Live and learn. I don't know how many people who would put their head in harms way with 200-300 ++ men running at them with the possibility of someone stepping on or kicking your head helmet or not. Rodgers got hit way to much last night as it was. I hope they fix that.

Softail--try not to come off as being so clueless. Urlacher is an extremely physical, in your face, linebacker. The guy played a quarter and a half with a seriously messed up wrist. The "tough guy" Rodgers was a big of enough puss to slide in that series instead of putting his head down and going for the first down. Neither of these teams is my favorite, but Urlacher has my respect, so does Farve--he would have went for it........

At least its not career ending. I wonder if he has ever worried about seriously hurting someone, I have a hard time feeling bad for him. I doubt he has felt bad for anyone he injured with one of his hits. Cheap shot last night on Rodgers.

Can anyone explain why a flag wasn't thrown on Urlacher for taking two or three steps after Rodgers let go of the ball and never letting up? If that was Favre a flag would have been thrown. Too bad anyone goes out for a season but I can't force myself to feel sorry for a millionaire who now has a lot of free time on his hands.
