Cutler debuts for Bears; is Pack's Rodgers better?

GREEN BAY — When Jay Cutler makes his regular-season debut for the Bears against the Packers at Lambeau Field tomorrow night, he might not even be the best quarterback on the field.

After proving himself a worthy successor to Brett Favre last season, Aaron Rodgers had a sizzling start in the preseason and has established himself as the leader of what could be one of the league's best offenses.

The showdown between Cutler and Rodgers promises to be unpredictable and entertaining.

Bears coach Lovie Smith says Cutler knew the team's philosophy when he came to Chicago from Denver and has embraced it.

I predict a 21-15 Packer win on late Rodger's heroics. Cutler throws 4 picks to our new 3-4 defense!

That was the biggest b.s. call on Al Harris. I was so happy for him when he got the game ending interception.

The vikings looked like crap, or did they think the game started at half time? I am sorry if that's how they play against a bottom of the league team how are they going to play against a great team like the Packers?? We are going to kick their butts and send Brett back to Kiln. The vikings are deep? really ? Where were they today?

The Packers may not have looked so hot , but at least they played a good team.

Nice to see that an utterly ridulous call on Al Harris didn't make the difference in this game. Not pretty, but a win. Welcome to the Cutler era.

Welcome to the regular season Packers, its not as easy as the preseason is it?
.
Favre looked just how the Vikings expected him to when they signed him. The signed him for his veteran leadership, and ability to run an efficient offense; something Vikings QBs have had trouble with in recent years. mymaro - Rodgers has been sacked 4 times already, guess you better worry about his mobility too. The Vikings have had a top 5 defense for many years, and will have a solid defense again this season. The Vikings are extremely deep at running back with a backup that would start on most NFL teams. Getting Favre just for name recognition...are you kidding me? What did they need him for? They've sold out every game for the last 11 years and this year wasn't going to be any different. He keeps defenses responsible and forces them to not stack the box against the run.

The Pack D is looking great. Cutler and Forte have had no impact in the first half. The Pack offense is struggling with the weak offensive line but will adjust their blocking schemes to get Rodgers some time.

Wow! Genuine devotion and some keen observations about a QB vs Genuine emotional feelings about the same QB and his “abilities”. Two valid points of view/opinions. Thanks. My opinion is that Donna, as in Prima Donna (Favre), will crash and burn and destroy his current Minnesota fan base as he has done in NY and Wisconsin. What a drama queen!

I see lots of scoring here, say a combined score in the 70s. But I gotta give the edge to da Bears.

I think this division is going to be tougher than what it has been in years. My neighbor is a bear's fan taking him some green cupcakes this afternoon and some green beer.

Never liked the bears, and I like how rodgers executes, but Matt Forte is going to be the guy to watch-and see if the hype is right. Should be a great game, especially a season opener!! =D
