MADISON — Republican state Rep. Roger Roth from Appleton is headed back to Iraq for his second tour of duty as a member of the Wisconsin Air National Guard.

Roth announced Wednesday that he is being deployed as part of the 115th Fighter Wing.

Rep. Scott Suder is being deployed in the same unit. The Republican from Abbotsford announced his deployment on Tuesday.

Both of them are staff sergeants and are expected to be gone between 90 and 120 days.

The 31-year-old Roth spent two months in Iraq with the unit last year.

The Assembly is scheduled to come back into session next week. Roth and Suder are to be deployed later this month.

Democrats have a 52-46 majority in the Assembly. Losing the two lawmakers will leave Republicans with just 44 votes.
