Bank robbery suspect caught
MADISON- A Janesville man is in custody this afternoon after he allegedly robbed the US Bank, 3461 Cottage Grove Road, Blooming Grove Township.
Theodore Rush, 33, of Janesville was arrested on charges of armed robbery and more charges are expected, say officials at the Dane County Sheriff's Office.
Dane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the robbery at 10:10 am. A witness at the bank was able to provide the 911 dispatcher with a license plate number on the suspect’s vehicle.
A few minutes later, a Cottage Grove Police Officer spotted a vehicle matching this description on Highway 12/18, and a pursuit began.
During the pursuit, which lasted approximately 24 minutes and reached speeds of up to 100 mph, the suspect crossed into several jurisdictions. Law Enforcement agencies from Cottage Grove, Monona, City of Madison, WI State Patrol, Stoughton, and the Dane County Sheriff’s Office were all involved.
The vehicle pursuit ended on Highway 51, near Spring Road in Stoughton, when a Dane County Sheriff’s Deputy put down road spikes, disabling the vehicle.
The suspect then left the car with a gun in his hand, and fledinto a wooded and marshy area east of Highway 51 and south of County N.
A police patrol and narcotics dog, K9 Utrix, found the suspect and he was taken into custody at about 11:30 a.m.
Detectives are working with Madison Police to determine if Rush is also responsible for other crimes, including an early morning carjacking on Walsh Road in Madison.
This morning’s incident remains under investigation, and Dane County detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the suspect at the US Bank this morning, to call the tip line at (608) 284-6900.

Another, I know you're being facetious, but this scumbag's "bad day" endangered a bunch of lives. What do you suppose causes someone to go to these extraordinary lengths? My guess is drugs, but in this day and age, it could be just about anything. Chances are pretty good he's resonsible for other crimes as well. Mr. Rush will be spending a lot of time in prison, as he should. Unreal. He's lucky to be alive.

I wonder if this whole escapade was a "rush" for Teddy......sounds as if Ted wanted his own version of a TARP fund.

gazettefan: Love the example! I always find it so humorous how people seem to have nothing better to do than to sit at their computer and spell check someone else's writing. I understand that there are a lot of us that are unemployed around here right now, but have a heart. Instead of critisizing, how about just having a good chuckle and calling it a day? You can probably find errors in my writing also, but who cares? It's a blog folks!

fledinto v. tr. compound of past tense of fleeinto, from the latin: to proceed like a bat out of hell from one scenario to another.
example: When I saw the Jehovah Witnesses coming down the street I fledinto my house and locked myself in my panic room.

Car jacking, armed robbery, high speed chase, caught by a police dog....And I thought I had a bad day.
I'm sure he did it a lot better on GTA IV. No do-overs this time.
