Traffic is backed up on Interstate 90/39 this evening in southern Wisconsin, but it’s not because of any specific problems.

“It’s due to volume. We haven’t had any crashes,” a State Patrol spokeswoman said.

The backup appears to be heaviest in northbound lanes.

AGAIN.....90 IS NOT GOING TO GET 6 lanes because the highway money politicians didn't outright steal(doyle), was wasted on the 8 lane 94 project in racine and kenosha....that was TOTALLY unnecessary.

Some drivers are causing this problem themselves. The people who are driving slower than the flow of traffic should move over to the right lane, whether they're going the speed limit or not. This will allow the continuous smooth flow of traffic. They can move back over there if they want, as long as they aren't impeding the flow. No matter what your speed is, the left lane is for passing. NOT THE RIGHT LANE. But, how else are we to get around? And the people who are merging that think they have the right of way??? Give me a break. I just talked to a young lady who is of that mind... and stubborn about it. I think every entrance to an interstate should have a stop/yield sign just to get the message across to the masses.

If they make it six lanes I hope it doesn't take 10 years to complete like in Illinois. It was a nightmare going through the toll to get to work every morning.

Who knows! The article is still here 24 hours later so it looks like the traffic engineers can't get there to make a proper assessment of the problem. S

I wonder if we could just ask the wonderful people from Illinois to just mail their tourist dollars to us and stay home. *LOL*

For those of you who remember vinyl recordings, this was referred to as a broken (skipping) record:
Traffic is backed up on Interstate 90/39 this evening in southern Wisconsin, but it’s not because of any specific problems.

Same problem, different day.
