SAGINAW, Mich. (AP) — U.S. Commerce Seretary Gary Locke joined Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm and Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle in participating in a clean energy forum.

Also attending Wednesday’s Clean Energy Economy Forum were Ed Montgomery, head of the White House Council on Auto Communities and Workers, and Assistant Energy Secretary David Sandalow.

The Commerce Department says in a statement that Locke, Montgomery and Sandalow laid out President Barack Obama’s concept for a comprehensive energy plan to develop technologies designed to cut pollution while producing alternative energy sources.

The federal and state officials met with local and regional groups and individuals during the invitation-only event at the Dow Event Center in downtown Saginaw.
