PORTAGE, Wis. (AP) — Authorities have made a preliminary identification of the body found along a walking path near Lake Wisconsin in Columbia County in southern Wisconsin.
The Columbia County Sheriff Dennis Richards say authorities believe it’s a 39-year-old rural Lodi man based on a preliminary identification made by a roommate Saturday night.
The man’s name is being witheld pending notification of his family. The death is believed to be an isolated incident, with no threat to the community.
The sheriff’s office and the Columbia County medical examiner’s office are investigating.
